Pain is not a rationed commodity in this world.  In fact, there is an overabundance of pain in people, and I am not only talking about physical pain, which inflicts us all to some degree or another, but more importantly, I am talking about mental health pain, emotional pain, and spiritual pain. All of these can lead people to desperate actions, and in dark moments to suicide.

At times, others may not have loved us. We may not even love ourselves, and it’s easy to reflect on rejection and surmise the world would be better off without us.

Despair is the number one way the devil destroys our peace and takes your soul for all eternity.

Stop and think for a moment.  Pain is something that is externally caused. Abuse to a child, young adult, or even an adult can cause unspeakable pain, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Neglect and withholding love will do the same. Notice, in every case, it was human-caused.  At no time did God cause you pain. In fact, the opposite is true. Our neglect of God, our abuse of His name and laws, our non-belief in His saving Mercy…these all inflict pain on Him.  He created us out of Perfect Love. He loves us unconditionally and He is with us constantly to pick up any broken pieces, if we will but turn to Him.  Give God a chance!

Yes, you were hurt.  He was crucified. Yes, you were made to look foolish.  He was stripped naked and scourged for all to see! Yes, you feel like there is no place to turn for peace, but there is!

The Lord gives us His peace.

Don’t fall victim to other’s evil deeds toward you.  If feeling exceptionally sad, worthless, and out of touch, and if you are contemplating suicide, STOP!  Ask God to forgive whoever abused you.  Ask God to forgive you for not trusting in Him and drop to your knees this very moment and ask Him to take on all of your burdens and carry them.

He will!
